This is a compilation of pictures showing my hydraulic assist setup. I started by trying to adapt my stock Tacoma steering pump and reservoir and then after installation realized that my pump was never going to be able to handle the flow capacity requirements of the 1.5" steering ram. SO...I bought a PSC pump along with their ram. The ram was set to 7 1/8" stroke. As I used custom steering arms on my setup from 4x4Labs and the tie rod is set out from the knuckes approximately 7" from center as opposed to the normal 5" from center on most Toyota knuckle setups. I plan to convert my knuckles to the 4x4Labs setup with 6-stud steering arms soon as turning my big 37" tires puts plenty of stress onto the system. CLICK HERE for pictures of the setup and build... |
